Head Boy / Head Girl Elections
Election Day Friday 18th May 2012
Our current Year 11 pupils are busy trying to secure as many votes as they can to be elected as Head Person of Killard 2012 / 2013.
Pupils have designed posters and are busy making their candidate 'vote for me' videos, promoting themselves and highlighting their strengths and qualities that would make them the ideal person for this very improtant role.
We wish all of the Year 11 pupils the very best of luck in this year's election campaign. Get voting everyone!!!!

Year 9 - Titanic Experience
Year 9 are currently involved in an interschool project about RMS Titanic. We use Video Conferencing and recently dressed up in Edwardian clothes to tell stories about the passengers. The children looked great and their photos can be seen on Learning NI Website
Yr 12 Residential to Ganaway Activity Centre
Wednesday 9th May - Thursday 10th May 2012
As part of Year 12's Prince's Trust xl programme they headed off for a one night residential to Ganaway Activity Centre were they took part in lots of teambuilding activites such as archery and a long strenuous walk up Slieve Donard. The pupils were involved in fund raising activites in school in the months leading up to subsidise this trip.
An excellent time was had by all!

Roots of Empathy Celebration Day
P5 Roots Of Empathy
P5 have been taking part in a Roots of Empathy programme this year. Baby Hannah visits our class once a month, she helps us to learn about feelings. We all sit around the green Roots of Empathy blanket and find out about the things that Baby Hannah is learning to do. We had a special assembly to say thank you to Hannah and her mum Nicky. Everybody got a certificate.
Year 12 - Thriller
Yr 12 Thriller Performance
On Thursday 24th May 2012 as part of our Year 12's leaving programme everyone at Killard was treated to a very special performance of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'.
Our Year 12 pupils really pulled out all of the stops and delivered a terrific performance. They learnt the dance routine, dressed up as zombies and got right into character. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed watching their version of Thriller.

Tag Rugby Trip To Bristol
On the 25th May - 27th May 2012, 15 pupils from Killard's secondary department headed off to Bristol to compete in the International Tag Rugby Festival.
Eleven teams from across the UK took part and we are delighted to announce that Killard came out on top and brought the trophy home!
Pupils and staff had a great weekend with lots of sun, fun and rugby! The motto of the weekend was ' Keep Calm and Tag'.
We are thoroughly looking forward to next years tournament which is to be held in Whitney. Well Done to all involved!! Champions!!

Graduation Day 2012
Yr 12 prize winners
On Monday 28th May 2012 we held our annual Graduation Day for our Year 12 pupils as they prepare to leave Killard. Mr. O'Neill welcomed family and friends of our Year 12 pupils to our special ceremony and got proceedings underway.
Mr Haddick spoke to our and wished our Year 12 all the very best for their future.
The distribution of prizes followed and finally everyone watched a special tribute DVD to our year 12 pupils of their time and experiences at Killard.
Light refreshments at the end of the ceremony allowed pupils, parents and staff an opportunity to relax and chat together.
The staff would like to congratulate our Year 12 pupils and wish them all the very best for their future.

Ballintoy Trip 2012
On Wednesday 30th May 2012 pupils from Killard's Primary and Secondary Departments headed off to Ballintoy for a residential for 3 days. The pupils got to take part in lots of fun and exciting activites which included: body boarding, kayaking, team games and a beach walk to mention a few!
The pupils and staff had a super time and would like to thank the staff at Sheep Island View Hostel for the beautiful food and accomodation provided for them.
Everyone had lots of stories to tell when they got back to school and can't wait to go again next year!
