Our Year 12 pupils headed off for a week of work epxperience from Monday 12th November to Friday 16th November. The pupils were going to a variety of different places during the week including restaurants, shops, schools and nurseries.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed their week out in workplacement doing different things and meeting new people.
Members of staff got the opportunity to go and visit the pupils during the week and speak to their employers. The feedback the teachers got was great and we want to say a huge well done to our Year 12 pupils and let them know we are very proud of them!!!!
Check out some of these photos showing them hard at work!!!

'The Great Killard Bake Off' In Aid Of Children In Need
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/5/8/6958391/8820324.jpg?0)
On Friday 16th November 2012 in aid of Children In Need we held for the second year running the ' Great Killard Bake off'. The chefs were drawn out of a hat and told one simple rule, the dishes they were preparing had to include apple.
The ingredients were bought, ovens were set and kitchen whites were on.
Mrs Curry and Miss Blythe did an excellent job filming in the Home Economics room so we could all join in the fun and watch the contestants (on the whiteboards in our classrooms) sweat it out to be crowned Killard Bake Off Champion 2012!
There were a variety of both sweet and savoury dishes prepared and our contestants this year were both male and female and we also had for the first time ever a pupil compete against the staff!
Everyone was very excited as we headed to the Assembly Hall to watch the judging panel taste each dish and score it out of 10!
It was a very close competition but the winning chef who made delicious apple and cinnamon scones was Mr Scates who was presented by Mrs Yeates with the Great Killard Bake Off Trophy. Well Done Mr Scates!
We want to say a huge thank you to Mrs Curry for organising this brilliant fund raising event. We also want to say thanks to Mrs Davey who allowed everyone to bake in the Home Economics room.
Well done to everyone who got involved!
